Simon Joannou

Simon is a full time strong dynamic teacher. Simon has studied at RIYMI in Pune, India with the Iyengar family on a regular basis over many years. Simon was initially trained by Pixie Lillas and in 2015 Simon completed a three year Course with Stephanie Quirk in Therapeutic Yoga that informs his therapy work and general classes. Simon continues a close relationship with Stephanie and has been assisting her Therapy courses in Asia. Simon is a Senior Intermediate Level 1 Certified Iyengar Teacher, he runs a mentoring program from Marrickville Yoga centre on Gadigal Land.

Hasu Opa Clark

Hasu brings a broad experience of teaching from children, beginners, experienced students and her ongoing work and passion for yoga therapy. Trained by Pixie Lillas she now continues her ongoing professional development with Stephanie Quirk and Gulnaaz Dashti. Hasu regularly studies with the Iyengar family in Pune, India. Hasu is a Junior Intermediate Level 1 certified Iyengar Teacher; Hasu teaches online classes from her home on Gadigal Land in Sydney, Australia.

Darrin McNally

Darrin is a full time yoga teacher and the principal teacher at the Kensignton School of Yoga and Croydon Yoga Studio in Adelaide, South Australia. Darrin has studied regularly in Pune, India with the Iyengar family on a regular basis and was trained by Pixie Lillas. Darrin brings integrity and shares his deep and honest understanding of the Iyengar method. Darrin is a Senior Intermediate Level 1 Iyengar Teacher and teaches online from his home in Adelaide the traditional land of the Kaurna People.

Cath Morgan

Cath Morgan has been teaching Iyengar yoga since 2010 after training with Pixie Lillas in Sydney. Cath started teaching at Marrickville Yoga before relocating to the UK and setting up her own yoga studio. Now back in Australia, Cath is delighted to be returning to teach for MYC Online from her base in Port Stephens. Cath has travelled to India to study at the Iyengar yoga institute in Pune and has also attended conventions in person and online with Geeta and Abhijata Iyengar. She holds a level 2 certificate.

Stephanie Quirk

Stephanie is a world leader in the field of Yoga Therapeutics, having spent 20 years living, studying and working directly with the Iyengar family at the Ramanani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India. The classes that Stephanie teaches online includes: workshops which represent investigation/learning for teachers, teacher trainees and experienced practitioners; and a weekly online Pranayama class.

Gulnaaz Dashti

Gulnaaz started Yoga at the Pune Institute (RIMIY) under the guidance of B.K.S. Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar in 1990. Gulnaaz lives in Pune, India – teaching all levels at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute for over 20 years. Her practice of more than 20 years & teaching general and medical classes at the Institute has been under the ever watchful eye of the Iyengar family and particularly guided by Dr Geeta Iyengar. Since that time she has become one of the senior teachers who teaches beginner’s, intermediate, advanced, as well as assisting in the medical classes.

Lois Steinberg

Lois Steinberg (Ph.D., CIYT Advanced 2, C-IAYT) is one of the world’s most experienced yoga instructors awarded the Advanced 2 certification by B.K.S. Iyengar himself. Her 38 years of extensive studentship with the Iyengars includes annual participation in the general and medical classes at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India.

Lois’ teaching is infused with enthusiasm to share the knowledge and acumen that have come through her sustained practice and study of the tremendous work of B.K.S. Iyengar and his family. She strives to emphasize and exemplify whole-body transformation through the joy of regular immersion in practice. As a teacher, she is direct, dynamic, clear, focused, engaging, gently humorous, and an invaluable resource for understanding the healing potential of yoga. As a teacher of teachers, a hands-on mentoring approach is the focus of her IYCU teacher education program.

Lois is the author of numerous books and articles and is widely respected for and consulted regarding her considerable knowledge of therapeutics. She is sought after worldwide to instruct workshops, and serves as a member of and assessor for the Certification Committee of the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the US.

We are excited to welcome Lois to MYC for workshops from time to time. Lois has a studio in Urbana, Illinois in the USA.
