Breathe Series

The first of a 2 part series about how we breathe, in life, in asana, in pranayama and in distress. Yes there will be reference to covid and Long Covid. But it is part of a larger picture. Technically svasaprasvasa means inhalation exhalation. In Ayurveda it means asthma or “horrible breathing” – First let us explore the breath, how we breathe and do you know where you felt that breath? The second series is titled ‘Recover’.

Compactness & Expansion

Within our practice of asana we become aware of shifts in the experience of ourselves. These experiences brings transformation not only of ourselves but also of the perception of the world we are in. It may be expansion into benevolence, or compactness bringing stability and focus. Comprises of a 2 part series.

Recover

We hold a picture of “restoratives” as being supine poses done quietly for a period of time. They rest the body, quieten and calm the mind. Through restoratives, we regain poise and equanimity. We love it. But this magical process is not always easily attained. We may at times be even too tired to rest, to sleep. But if restoratives aren’t delivering freshness, nor bringing newness and bright enthusiasm we have come into a condition known as Systemic Exertion Intolerance Disorder. This condition encompasses “long-covid”, “chronic fatigue syndrome”, and “myalgic encephalomyelitis” (ME), it is the background of many other immune-based disorders. This form of fatigue is as difficult to live with as it is to alleviate. In the programme ‘RECOVER’ it is this situation that we will address through an understanding of the yoga applications. This class was recorded on 28/04/2022.

AUD35 for 2 weeks.
